Fighting Pandemic with Chinese Herbs

– Serving your neighborhood and helping the community in this difficult time

Herbal medicine, particularly Chinese herbal medicine, has a long-standing of history. In the last 5 thousand years of civilization, China experienced many pandemics. Every single epidemic, people were treated by Chinese herbal medicine. For instance, in the Han dynasty (206-220 AD), China was ravaged by constant civic war, and people suffer are from crime, pervert, infection, and death. During the ten-year near the end of the Eastern Hay, two-third of the population fell till and died. Seventy percent of the fatalities were due to cold-induced injury. There have been over 320 large-scale epidemics in China between Eastern Han and Qing Dynasty (about 2,000 years). Dr. Zhongjing Zhang was born in this period and studied herbal medicine, eventually wrote a book called “Discussion of Cold-induced Disorder – Shan Han Luan”. As we all know that allopathic medicine was coined in 1810, approximately. Chronologically, Chinese herbal medicine has a much longer history for infectious disease control. Several Dr. Zhang’s herbal formulae have used for over 2000 for infectious control and treatment, including the current coronavirus fights in China. Why? Because each herbal recipe can be tailored individually, each formula usually contains more than 3-15 single herbs that present a broad spectrum of antimicrobial (antibacterial, antiviral, and/or antifungal) properties. A formulation of herbs is more potent to suppress or kill bacteria or viruses than one targeted synthetic substance. Also, a formulation of herbs acts mutually to make more robust therapeutic applications. On the other hand, various herbs can antagonize the toxicity of some herbs to reduce side effects of the entire formula.

This photo shows one of several commonly used anti- infectious formulations in Chinese medicine. They are mixed powered, GMP and easy to take. If you are healthy, you can take a preventive herbal tea to boost immunity; if you have cold, flu or coronavirus signs and symptoms, such as fever, dry cough, muscle ache, acute diarrhea, etc., you can get an customized formula for your condition.  Please contact Acupuncture Lifeology Inc.
